Believers continue to gather daily for prayer standing near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. On 7 November 2024, after the prayer service, a priest of the UOC addressed the parishioners and guests of the monastery with a sermon. A video of his words was published on the Save_Lavra Telegram channel.

The priest thanked those gathered for coming to the walls of the Holy Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra despite their daily worries and labours, “where we offer prayers to the Lord and to the Mother of God – the Protectress of this Holy Monastery.”

“We also ask for the intercessions of the venerable Fathers of the Pechersk Lavra that through their prayers our sorrow may be resolved, and that we may again enter our holy monastery and offer there our thanksgiving prayers to the Lord God for peace in our land, for its prosperity, and for every good deed that the Lord sends us in our lives,” he noted.

The UOC cleric wished the believers strength and fortitude, so that they could continue to gather together and offer prayers to the Lord. “May the venerable Fathers of the Pechersk Lavra, the Mother of God and all the saints of God help us in this. May God save all of you for your prayers,” he concluded.

As reported by the UOJ, prayers are further offered for imprisoned UOJ journalists at Lavra's prayer standing.
