Volodymyr Bobechko. News Author And Rewriter At The UOJ
Volodymyr Bobechko, a news author and rewriter at the UOJ, has been detained and has been in pre-trial detention since 12 March 2024.
Was released on bail on September 27, 2024
Volodymyr Bobechko was born on August 30, 1973, in the city of Skole, Lviv Oblast. He received his secondary education at Stryi High School No. 1. He completed his first higher education at the philological faculty of Uzhhorod National University, where he earned a qualification as a "philologist, teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature".
He obtained his second education at the Institute of Political Science with a "public administration manager" qualification.
He worked as an assistant-consultant (press secretary) to members of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine. For many years, he was involved in journalistic activities. In particular, he worked as a news editor at the Ukrainian National News Agency, on ICTV channel, as a journalist at the regional "11 channel" (Dnipro city), as a chief editor of the TV company "Khvyli Stryia" (Lviv Oblast). Besides, he was employed as a deputy chief editor of the “Irpinsky Visnyk” newspaper and as an editor of the website of the ITV news agency (Irpin, Kyiv Oblast).
Volodymyr professes the Orthodox faith; he is a parishioner of the UOC, and he always follows his beliefs in his professional activities. He is a patriot of his country, a sincere Ukrainian, a responsible father, a loving husband, kind, noble, and sensitive.
He started working with the UOJ only recently and hasn't accomplished much yet, but he definitely has nothing to be ashamed of or feel guilty about. He conscientiously fulfilled his simple tasks of rewriting and correctly presenting news taken from other open sources of Ukrainian media, in accordance with general standards.
If objective reprinting of news from other media is considered "incitement to hostility", then most journalists in Ukraine should be judged.
If receiving editorial assignments for such reprints is considered "participation in an organised criminal group", it is already beyond absurdity. Let alone all other accusations.
Free Vladimir, he is not guilty of anything! Except perhaps being an honest Christian and citizen.
