In Novovolynsk, the premises that formerly housed a church dedicated to St. Job of Pochaiv of the Volodymyr-Volynsky Diocese of the UOC were sold at an electronic auction to a wholesale enterprise in Lviv, reports the Bug website.

According to information from the Prozorro site, the premises had been leased by the "Orthodox Center for Education and Pedagogy" since 2020, with the lease set to expire on October 31, 2025.

However, in April 2023, the city council, during a session, ordered the municipal enterprise to terminate the lease agreement with the Orthodox center. At the same time, an unlawful decision was made to ban the activities of the UOC throughout the entire Novovolynsk community.

It is noted that the auction was held three times due to a lack of buyers. The initial price was set at 3.801 million UAH, which was subsequently halved. As a result, the premises were purchased for 1.843 million UAH by the wholesale trader "TD Remark", registered in Lviv.

As previously reported, a new UOC church was consecrated in the Volodymyr-Volynsky Diocese to replace one that had been seized.
