KDAiS to hold a conference on primacy among Local Churches

On November 11, 2021, the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary (KDAiS) will hold an International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the theological and canonical understanding of the principle of the conciliarity of the Church and the issue of primacy among Local Orthodox Churches, reports the official website of the KDAiS.
The organization of the conference on the theme: "Catholicism of the Church: Theological, Canonical and Historical Dimensions" was assigned by the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. It is timed to the 1970th anniversary of the Apostolic Council in Jerusalem and the 1570th anniversary of the IV Ecumenical Council.
The following issues will be discussed at the scientific and practical conference:
- Catholicism of the Church as a theological and canonical category;
- The Apostolic Council in Jerusalem as the basis of the conciliarity of the Church;
- Ecumenical Councils: historical circumstances of their convocation and principles of their work;
- The problem of primacy in the Ecumenical Church in the era of Ecumenical Councils;
- Canon 28 of the IV Ecumenical Council: theological, canonical and historical aspects;
- The problem of appeals against decisions of church courts in the canons of the Ecumenical Councils;
- Discussions on primacy in the Ecumenical Church in contemporary Orthodox theology;
- The crisis in World Orthodoxy caused by the actions of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Ukraine.
The conference invites teachers and students of religious and secular educational institutions, specialists in theology, philosophy, history, and pedagogy to take part in it. It is planned to publish a collection based on the conference materials. KDAiS requests to send the texts of reports to the Organizing Committee in electronic form for publication.
As reported, the hierarchs of the UOC made reports at a conference on primacy in the Church.
