On Saturday, October 9, Metropolitan Melety of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna performed the rite of the great consecration of the church in honor of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos for the UOC community, which suffered from raiding by schismatics in the village of Boyanchuk of the Zastavna deanery.

A video about the holiday was published in the community group on Facebook.

Before the service, the believers warmly greeted their bishop near the church. The children prepared their congratulations to Vladyka and presented flowers to Metropolitan Meletiy.

“I am glad that on this significant day we can pray together,” the ruling bishop said in response to his greeting. "Today I don’t want to look back and remember what happened. But life compels us to do this in order to appreciate the work that is put into this temple. It is built on tears, on experiences, on suffering. And today we can see that the seed that was thrown here almost three years ago has sprouted into such beauty.

We believe that God's grace you were bestowed when you were building this temple, will linger over this place for many, many years to come. Today is such an exciting moment, because we are sanctifying what you took out of your heart, your soul, and gave it to God."

After the rite of consecration, Metropolitan Meletiy with the clergy celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the new church.

As reported by the UOJ, the headman of the seized church in Bukovina spoke about how the parishioners were able to get a new church built and why it took them a long time to get a land plot for this end.
