On 23 November 2024, several hundred Orthodox Christians in Greece took part in a protest against the ecumenical and schismatic actions of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, reports the Greek UOJ website.

The protest, organized by the Coordinating Committee of Believers of the Holy Metropolis of Peristeri, began at 4:00 PM in front of the building of the Peristeri Metropolis of the Greek Orthodox Church, where the head of the Phanar had arrived on a visit.

The believers verbally expressed their dissatisfaction with the "ecumenical and schismatic" actions of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople.

UOJ Greece reports that the focus of the protest was on issues such as the establishment of joint Easter celebrations with the Papists, as well as the removal of the Crucifix from the Holy Altar, initiated by Metropolitan Gregory of Peristeri.

In particular, the protesters shouted, "No Easter with heretics!" and held signs reading, "We want a Universal, not an Ecumenical Patriarch."

The believers peacefully expressed their disagreement, holding crosses and banners with slogans against joint Easter celebrations and in favour of the return of the Crucifix to the altar.

Several dozen police officers were present at the event, "but this did not cause any tension", according to UOJ Greece.

As previously reported, Greek believers are protesting against the ecumenical actions of the Phanar head.
