On October 21, the hierarch of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, Archbishop Michael (Dandar) of Prague, took part in a festive divine service on the day of memory of St. Alexis of Carpatho-Russia in St. Nicholas Monastery in the village of Iza-Karputlash in the Khust Eparchy of the UOC, reports the eparchial press service.

The celebrations at the St. Nicholas Monastery, where the relics of St. Alexis rest, were led by Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynogradiv. Besides the archbishop from Bohemia, he was concelebrated by the vicar of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, Bishop Paramon of Naro-Fominsk, and Bishop Simeon of Uglia, the priestly brethren of the monastery and guests.

During the service, they prayed for an end to the epidemic, for peace in the state and the Orthodox Church.

After the Liturgy, a festive moleben was served in front of the relics of the saint, and then a religious procession was held around the church.

In conclusion, Metropolitan Mark addressed the believers with a sermon, in which he noted the significance of St. Alexis’s works for the Carpathian land and thanked the bishops and all the guests for the common prayer.

As reported, the OCCLS took no action against the bishop who seized the parishes.
