On October 26, 2021, representatives of the UGCC, Phanar and the OCU held an international conference "Catholic-Orthodox Documents and Their Reception in Ukraine" in Kyiv. It was broadcast live on the Zhyve.tv page.
The event was attended by the head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk, the Exarch of Constantinople in Ukraine, Bishop Mikhail (Anishchenko), the representative of the OCU Georgy Kovalenko, the retired cleric of the Moscow Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church, a member of the Mixed International Commission on Orthodox-Catholic Dialogue, Archimandrite Kirill Govorun, President of the UCU Institute of Ecumenical Studios Ivan Datsko, etc.
During the event organized by the UGCC Commission on Interfaith and Interreligious Relations and the Open Orthodox University of St. Sophia the Wisdom, they presented "the Ukrainian translation of the documents of the Orthodox-Catholic dialogue, which were developed by the official international bilateral commission over the past 40 years".
As the press service of the UGCC emphasized, the presented collection is an important step "towards the approach of unity among Christians".
After the presentation and discussion, a round table was held with the participation of representatives of the UGCC and OCU, experts and deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, members of the interfactional association “Values. Dignity. Family".
Earlier, the OCU announced the desire for "one church" with the Greek Catholics.
