Andriy Bokoch, a deputy of the Volyn Regional Council, has called on law enforcement agencies to carry out "preventive work" with priests and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. As reported by volynnews, the appeal made by Bokoch on December 12 during a session of the regional council was supported by his colleagues.

The deputy claims that conflicts, which he suggests are initiated by members of UOC religious communities, frequently arise in Volyn.

"There is significant moral and psychological pressure from the priests of the Moscow Patriarchate and their supporters on citizens. Often, the relatives and friends of military men who raise issues about religious communities joining the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) suffer. I request that work be done with the leaders and clergy of the UOC MP to prevent any instances of violence against representatives of the religious communities of the OCU," the deputy stated.

It is noted that Andriy Bokoch sent his parliamentary request to the head of the Volyn Police, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Volyn region, and the head of the Main Department of National Police (GUNP) in the Volyn region.

The other deputies supported Bokoch's proposal.

As reported by the UOJ, in Volyn, the premises where the house church of the UOC was located were sold by the authorities for a warehouse.
