The rector of the Holy Ascension Church of the UOC in the village of Rynhach, Chernivtsi region, Father Seraphim, spoke about another attempt by OCU activists to seize the church through court, now with the help of forged documents, reports the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy on its Facebook page.

Earlier, the Economic Court of the Chernivtsi region refused to consider the claim of the OCU on the ownership of the temple in Rynhach. Now activists of the schismatics have filed a new lawsuit with the Novoselytsia District Court, demanding that the UOC community's ownership of the church in Rynhach be cancelled.

At the same time, the documents submitted to the court include the names of the deceased people, who allegedly support the transfer of the community to the OCU. “This time they submitted lists to the Novoselytsia District Court, in which many, as of today, have died and had the last rites in our Orthodox church. And during their lifetime, none of them had a desire to move to the OCU,” said Father Seraphim.

He also recalled that three years ago in Rynhach, representatives of the OCU fraudulently collected signatures in support of the transition to the schism. Subsequently, many villagers withdrew their signatures after learning the truth about who collected them and for what purpose.
