The Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Anastasios, underwent emergency surgery on January 10. The press service of the Albanian Church continues to provide updates on the health of the AOC Primate.
“His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Albania underwent emergency surgery due to a hemorrhagic episode and has been transferred back to the intensive care unit in an intubated state. The next 48 hours are considered critical,” stated the medical bulletin issued by the administration of the Athens hospital where the archpastor is being treated.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Albanian Primate had been admitted to intensive care.
