The raided UOC community of the Dormition of the Mother of God in the village of Horoshivtsi of the Zastavny District, Chernivtsi Region, has filled the foundation of its new church.
The press service of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy said that now, by the grace of God, believers are going to pour a concrete cushion. The contact numbers of the rector and head of the church were also published for communication: +38 066 52 87 606 (Archpriest Fyodor), +38 097 590 80 73 (Yuri).
Two years ago, on January 20, 2019, OCU activists, with the support of local authorities, illegally seized the UOC temple in the village of Horoshivtsi. At the meeting, where the fate of the temple was decided, supporters of the OCU from different villages and Chernivtsi, who had nothing to do with the temple, voted to go to the OCU. The ousted community went to pray at a temporary temple.
On August 30, 2021, Metropolitan Melety of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna laid the foundation stone under a new church, and the believers began construction.
