On January 20, 2025, the inauguration of Donald Trump as the President of the United States took place at the White House in Washington, D.C.

During the ceremony, Trump took the oath of office on the U.S. Constitution, concluding with the words: “So help me God.” He pledged to uphold the nation’s fundamental law and reaffirmed his intention to make America great again.

This inauguration marked the 60th in U.S. history and the second for Donald Trump. The Republican, who previously served as the 45th president, returned to the Oval Office, becoming the 47th head of state.

The event is being called historic, as only one other president in U.S. history, Grover Cleveland, has been elected to two non-consecutive terms.

Unlike the traditional location at the west front of the Capitol building, this year’s inauguration was moved to the Capitol rotunda due to freezing weather conditions. Donald Trump and the Vice President were sworn in before a limited number of invited guests.

The parade accompanying the inauguration took place at the Capital One Arena, drawing thousands of spectators.

The event attracted worldwide attention. Millions of people followed the ceremony via online broadcasts hosted by major American television networks, news outlets, and the White House on its official YouTube and X channels.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that one of Trump’s first executive orders will recognize only two genders in the U.S.
