On December 12, Pope Francis said that he was praying for peace in "beloved Ukraine" in the face of the threat of a buildup of Russian troops on its border, reports de.catholicnewsagency.com.
The head of the RCC called on the international community to resolve the tense situation in Ukraine through "a serious dialogue, and not with the help of weapons".
“May this Christmas bring peace to Ukraine! Weapons are not the way, "the Pope said from his office window overlooking St. Peter's Square, before the traditional Sunday prayer "Angelus".
As previously reported, a Peruvian nativity scene has been erected in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
