A sculpture similar to the apocalyptic "beast" from the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation was erected near the UN headquarters in New York.
A photo of a lion with eagle wings was published on the UN Twitter page. The lion with the wings of an eagle has been named “the guardian for international peace and security” and donated to the United Nations by the Government of Oaxaca, Mexico. The sculpture was created by the artists Jacobo and Maria Angeles.
In the comments to the post, as well as in other social networks, users claim that the sculpture looks like the “beast” from the 7th chapter of the book of the prophet Daniel: “Daniel said: ‘In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea. Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea. The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle."
Other users believe that the lion with eagle's wings near the UN building is somewhat reminiscent of the “beast” from chapter 13 of the book of Revelation of the Apostle John the Theologian: “And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority."
In addition, the phrase “peace and security” used to name the sculpture reminds some social media users of the words from Epistle 1 to Thessalonians: “for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, 'Peace and safety', destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape” (1 Thess. 5: 2-3).
Blogger Michael Snyder sarcastically noted that the sculpture was “just by coincidence” painted in LGBT colors: “Did they really think they could install it without anyone noticing? And just by coincidence, it was painted in LGBT colors,” he wrote.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Britain proposed to create a world government to combat Covid-19.
