On March 25, another court hearing took place at the Sosnivka District Court in Cherkasy regarding the case of Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv. The bishop joined the session via video link, reports the Provce website.
At the beginning of the hearing, the lawyer read a doctor's conclusion from March 18, when Metropolitan Theodosiy felt unwell during the session. The archbishop's defender, Volodymyr Holubchik, stated that on that day he was diagnosed with a hypertensive crisis: blood pressure 180/110.
Prosecutor Kolomiyets stated that the next day the metropolitan performed the Liturgy in the village of Melnyky.
In response, the hierarch of the UOC emphasized that such crises occur with regularity, but he has a responsibility to his flock.
“This started after the SBU began to destroy the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and is trying to imprison me. But I have a responsibility to the church, so despite having a hypertensive crisis on March 18, I served on March 19,” noted Metropolitan Theodosiy.
The session also reviewed video footage of the searches conducted at the bishop's residence on February 16, 2023.
The head of the Cherkasy Eparchy noted that the reason for the search was an RSS feed posted on the Cherkasy Blagovestnik website.
The next hearing will take place on April 10 at 11:00.
As reported by the UOJ, the court previously released Metropolitan Theodosiy from night house arrest.
