In Stari Bezradychi, Kyiv region, OCU supporters seize temple

On 8 April 2025, in the village of Stari Bezradychi, Kyiv region, OCU supporters seized the Holy Dormition Church, report local activists of the Dumenko organization on Facebook.

According to the published information, the entry to the church was made by representatives of the OCU community together with the secretary of the Pereyaslav-Vyshneve Eparchy of the OCU, "hegumen" Viktor Kozak.

On 10 April, a community cleanup is planned on the church grounds, and the first "church service" is scheduled for 13 April.

The post also mentions that on 8 June 2024, the residents of Stari Bezradychi, Obukhiv district, voted to join the OCU, and on 31 July 2024, the Holy Dormition parish was officially transferred to the Dumenko organization. The post does not specify whether the UOC religious community voted in this matter.

As eralier reported, on 22 October 2023, the parish community of St Panteleimon’s Church in the village of Novi Bezradychi, Kyiv region, held a parish meeting where they voted to remain in the fold of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
