Nun Agnesa (Dunina), who dedicated many years to her academic work at the Kyiv theological schools, was given the monastic name Agnia in honour of the early Christian martyr Saint Agnes of Rome, commemorated on 3 February.
The ceremony was attended by staff and students of the Kyiv theological schools. The liturgical chants were performed by the student choir under the direction of Archimandrite Leontii (Tupkalo).
At the end of the rite, Bishop Ambrosii, on behalf of Archbishop Sylvester of Bilohorodka, Rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy, and the entire faculty and student body, warmly congratulated Nun Agnia and wished her God's help on her chosen path.
