Monastic tonsures performed in Alexandria Eparchy

On April 10, 2025, at the Holy Theophany Women’s Monastery in the village of Dykovka, Znamianske Deanery, Metropolitan Boholep of Alexandria and Svitlovodsk performed monastic tonsures.

Nun Apollinaria (Chervynska) was tonsured into the Great Schema with the name Animaïssa in honor of the Martyr of Gothia, and Nun Euthymia (Bilyk) received the name Epistimia in honor of the Phoenician Martyr.

Novice Lia (Dmytriieva) was tonsured into the Lesser Schema with the name Platonida in honor of the Venerable Syrian.

In addition, the novice Larisa (Kralia) was tonsured into the monastic rank with the name Charitina in honor of the Pontic Martyr.

The spiritual sponsor of the newly tonsured nuns was the abbess of the monastery, Igumenia Theophania (Flakeyeva).

Following the tonsure, the hierarch congratulated the new nuns and addressed them with words of spiritual guidance. At the conclusion, Metropolitan Boholep invoked God’s blessing upon them.
