On April 15, 2025, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted searches involving the Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich).
According to the UOJ, the searches are taking place at the temporary premises of the UOC Metropolitanate's chancery, located near the Lybidska metro station. SBU representatives are reportedly behaving in a respectful and proper manner.
It is known that the searches are related to alleged "obstruction of the activities of religious communities, in particular, their reaffiliation."
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the SBU conducted searches at the residence of the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel.
