Metropolitan Leonid, Patriarchal Exarch of the Russian Orthodox Church for Africa, said that two heterodox communities had decided to join Orthodoxy. Vladyka wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

Metropolitan Leonid said that a missionary group led by Priest Georgy Maximov visited three churches in the Kisiya region (Western Kenya) and two Orthodox shelters established by priests Theodore Ouru and Germogen Otara.

According to the hierarch, the children warmly welcomed the guests from Russia. A meeting of the clergy of the Kisiya region was held in the temple of St. Philomen in Gesonso, while in the church of St. Petra in Nyavisas, a meeting with believers took place.

In addition, Vladyka said that Priest Georgy Maksimov met with the leaders of two small heterodox communities who had expressed a desire to convert to the Russian Orthodox Church, due to which “the necessary steps were determined for the catechesis of these communities.”

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Egyptian Ambassador to Russia welcomed the establishment of the Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa.
