"Get out you with payess!": Children do anti-Semitic plays in UGCC temples
In several temples of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, parishioners were shown costumed Christmas performances in which they spoke insultingly about Jews. This was announced Eduard Dolinsky, the head of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, on his Facebook page.
According to Dolinsky, this is the church in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the village of Starychi, where parishioners "play Jews."
“Get out of the way, you with payess! To do business with you is to disrespect yourself,” says a character in an embroidered shirt and baggy trousers. The action takes place against the background of icons with Jews,” specified the head of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee.
He also said that "a Christmas nativity scene took place in the church of Nyzhniy Strutyn village," in which "the Jew Moshka proclaims the birth of the Messiah, who ‘will give us, kikes with payess, a lot of money’."
The temple in honor of St. Nicholas in the village of Nyzhniy Strutyn, which Eduard Dolinsky mentions, also belongs to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that a Ternopil deputy near a temple taken from the UOC called for Jews to be hanged.
In addition, the former consul of Ukraine in Hamburg, Vasily Marushchinets, who was fired for his pro-fascist and anti-Semitic rhetoric, received an archpastoral blessing from the head of the UGCC.
