On the commemoration day of Venerable Amfilochius of Pochaiv, May 12, 2025, dozens of clergy celebrated a festive Divine Liturgy at the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral of the Pochaiv Lavra. Photos and videos published on the monastery's Telegram channel captured thousands of believers who came to honor the memory of the holy ascetic.

The service was led by Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopil and Kremenets, concelebrated by Metropolitans Pitirim of Mykolaiv and Ochakiv, Vissarion of Ovruch and Korosten, Agapit of Mohyliv-Podilskyi and Sharhorod, Volodymyr of Pochaiv, Roman of Konotop and Hlukhiv; Archbishops Job of Shumsk and Sylvester of Bilohorodka; Bishops Athanasiy of Kamin-Kashyrskyi, Barnabas of Novyi Buh, and Seraphim of Novovorontsovsk; as well as the clergy of the monastery and visiting priests.

Thousands of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church prayed during the service, having traditionally arrived at the holy monastery to honor Venerable Amfilochius.

During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for peace on Ukrainian soil, deliverance from the enemy, for God to have mercy on the nation and preserve those in despair and who have lost their homes, and for God's blessing upon people of good will who help those in need.

The large monastic and brotherly choirs performed the liturgical hymns.

After the service, the relics of Venerable Amfilochius were solemnly carried in a procession from the Transfiguration Cathedral back to the Cave Church, where they permanently rest.

At the conclusion of the service, the abbot of the Pochaiv Lavra, Metropolitan Volodymyr, congratulated all the clergy and believers on the day of remembrance of Venerable Amfilochius and expressed gratitude for the collective prayer.

As the UOJ previously reported, on May 9, after the evening service, the residents of Pochaiv and pilgrims carried the relics of Venerable Amfilochius in a procession from the Cave Church to the Transfiguration Cathedral of the monastery.
