In Ukraine, two soldier-seminarians of the Russian Orthodox Church were killed: Yaroslav Titov, a student of the Ryazan Seminary, and Dmitry Goncharov, a student of the Stavropol Seminary, reports the Telegram channel «Christians Against War».
Goncharov is the son of a cleric of the Georgiyevsk Eparchy, Archpriest Anatoly Goncharov. He served as a church attendant at the Church of St. Demetrius of Thessalonica in the village of Kalinovskoye. In 2020, he interrupted his studies due to family circumstances and soon volunteered for the war. He was killed on April 7, 2025.
Titov is a student of the Ryazan Seminary. He served as a subdeacon in Kasimov and Ryazan for several years. He volunteered for the war in his third year. The press service of the St. Nicholas Church in the city of Kasimov reports that Titov "gave his life for the Motherland" on December 27, 2024.
