On May 22, 2025, on the feast day of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy at the St. Nicholas Cathedral of the Intercession Convent in Kyiv, reports the UOC Information and Education Department.

Along with the Primate, the service was attended by the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Metropolitan Joasaph of Vasylkiv, Archbishop Spiridon of Vyshneve, Bishop Lavr of Irpin, Bishop Mark of Borodianka, the clergy of the convent, and guests in holy orders.

During the service, prayers were offered by the abbess, Igumenia Kalysfenia, with the sisters of the convent, parishioners, and pilgrims.

After the reading of the Holy Gospel, His Beatitude spoke in his sermon about the life of St. Nicholas and his numerous miracles in our days.

During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for peace in Ukrainian land; for deliverance from the enemy; that the Lord would have mercy on our people and preserve those who are in despair and have lost their homes; for God's blessing on people of good will who help those in need. The Primate asked God for mercy for the Ukrainian people, that the Lord would reason with the authorities, strengthen the courage of the warriors, free the captives, heal the sick, and provide shelter to the homeless.

The service concluded with a procession around the cathedral and a prayer to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. At the end of the service, Metropolitan Onuphry congratulated the residents and parishioners of the convent on the feast.

As reported by the UOJ, in Khmelnytskyi, the solemn all-night Vigil for the 35th anniversary of the eparchy and the consecration of the St. Nicholas Cathedral, which was to be led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, was canceled. The reason was a planned action by radicals, initiated by activist Yevhen Karas and deputy Viktor Burlyk. They called on Khmelnytskyi residents to gather at the St. Nicholas Cathedral and disrupt the service.
