Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria called the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church “jackals and bears from the North,” reports romalewfronimati.blogspot.com.
On February 20, 2022, during the ordination of the new Bishop Chrysostom of Bukobe, Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa spoke about “pseudo-brothers from the North” who, “dressed in an Orthodox attire, invade Africa.”
According to him, Bishop Chrysostom "filled the ranks of the Alexandrian hierarchy at a time when our patriarchy is being attacked by false brothers from the North."
“Unfortunately, bears and jackals from the North, who were Christianized by the Greeks, come in Orthodox attire 'to steal and destroy' (John 10: 10),” said Patriarch Theodore, who only on February 14 called the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, “beloved brother and concelebrant in Christ."
The head of the Church of Alexandria assured that “together with other bishops” he would “resist the invasion and church ‘colonialism’ of the Russian Orthodox Church”, which violates the holy canons and wants to “destroy what the Patriarchate of Alexandria has been building with difficulty for 2,000 years.”
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the head of the Church of Alexandria threatened the Exarch for Africa of the Russian Orthodox Church with deprivation of episcopal dignity.
