On May 26, 2025, in the city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, Sts. Peter and Paul's Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was seized. Representatives of the OCU cut the locks and entered the church premises. This was reported on the Telegram channel "Dozor", citing their sources.
It is known that a group of raiders arrived at the church early in the morning, right after the curfew ended.
"The criminals seem to have tried to do everything as quickly and discreetly as possible. So that no one could record the invasion. They cut the locks and occupied the shrine. When the UOC parishioners came to their church, they could no longer enter. The locks of the OCU raiders were hanging on the House of God," the message says.
Soon, on May 30, OCU chaplain Mykola Hopainych wrote on his Facebook page that the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul joined the OCU and congratulated the "religious community on the right decision". On June 1, the raiders held their service in the seized Orthodox shrine.
The Bila Tserkva Eparchy of the UOC has not yet commented on this situation.
As reported by the UOJ, on March 21, 2025, in Bila Tserkva, the OCU took over St. Panteleimon's Church of the UOC. The Bila Tserkva Eparchy of the UOC published a comment on this matter.
