His Beatitude Met. Onuphry holds prayer service for peace in Ukraine
On March 4, 2022, on the feast day of Saints Archippus, Philemon and Apphia, Apostles of the Seventy, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All the Ukraine led a prayer service for establishing peace in Ukraine, reports the UOC Information and Education Department. The service was held in the house church of Holy Trinity Convent of Feofaniya, which is located in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv.
During the service, the Metropolitan offered special prayers for the long-suffering Ukrainian people and the establishment of peace as soon as possible. Bishop Laurus of Irpen and Bishop Mark of Borodianka concelebrated with the archpastor.
With the blessing of His Beatitude Onuphry, today at 12:00 o'clock in all churches and monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church there were prayers for the establishment of peace in Ukraine. In many churches, the prayer service ended with a procession and bell ringing.
As reported, with the blessing of the Primate, the faithful of the UOC will read the Gospel and make earthly bows during Lent for the cessation of war.
