Believers from the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC participated in the celebrations in honor of the saint.
"As reported from the scene, 15-20% of the participants in the procession are Orthodox Christians from the Chernivtsi region," says the message on the believers' Facebook page.
Local media note that this year thousands of Christians joined the prayer procession.
The celebrations in honor of the transfer of the relics of Saint John the New to the Suceava Fortress lasted four days and began on June 21.
As reported by the UOJ, the Romanian press widely reported about the attempted seizure of the Chernivtsi cathedral.
