Metropolitan Anthony: Praying on knees for restoration of peaceful life
On March 10, 2022, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, the Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, spoke about the activities of the eparchies of the UOC and the fact that all believers kneel every day to pray for the restoration of peaceful life. The hierarch's address was published by the UOC's Information and Education Department.
“From the first day, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which has been and will be with its people, is providing all possible assistance to all those who have suffered from the consequences of hostilities. To date, thousands of refugees have found shelter in our holy monasteries. Our churches are always open to providing spiritual and feasible material support. For a fortnight now, fighting has been going on in our long-suffering land. Every day we learn with great heartbreak of the increasing number of the dead and wounded. Temples, hospitals, schools and houses have been destroyed. But the bitterest thing is that human souls are being destroyed. The war mercilessly cripples not only the body but also the soul. In these difficult days, we pray on our knees for the soonest cessation of hostility and restoration of peaceful life,” said the hierarch of the UOC.
As reported, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry called on believers to be united in God in these difficult days.
