Zelensky urges Pope to mediate in talks with RF
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky spoke with Pope Francis, as reported on his Twitter microblog.
According to the President, he told the pontiff about the difficult humanitarian situation and the blocking of life-saving corridors by Russian troops.
"We would welcome the Holy See's mediating role in ending human suffering. Thanked for prayers for Ukraine and peace," Zelensky said.
We recall that Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko sent an official letter to the Vatican in which he invited the Pope to come to Kyiv. The Vatican responded that a visit of the Pope to Ukraine is unlikely at the moment.
As reported, Zelensky's wife asked the World Council of Churches to help with the humanitarian corridors.
