The New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) announced a discussion with international lawyer Robert Amsterdam on the situation with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The event is scheduled for August 5, 2025.
Organizers emphasize that the topic of religious persecution in Ukraine is being ignored by mainstream American media. "This is a discussion that mainstream media won't touch, and one you definitely can't miss," stated the NYYRC.
They reposted a publication on X by Robert Amsterdam, highlighting issues of religious freedom in Ukraine.
"We have consistently condemned Russia's actions, and it is sanctioned more than any other country. Yet our taxes go to Ukraine, which is why we need to hold it to account religious persecution," wrote Amsterdam on the social network X.
Representatives of the young Republicans note that Americans are obliged to monitor the ethical spending of tax funds. "No serious person can contest Robert’s record on Russia," the organization emphasized.
The discussion will address issues of the "war against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church" in the context of American financial aid to Kyiv.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that, according to Amsterdam, as the people protest, Zelensky continues to persecute the UOC.
