Orthodox from EU countries urge to prevent seizure of UOC temple in Adjamka
Residents of Germany and Estonia, who for many years have had a spiritual connection with the church of the Intercession in the Ukrainian village of Adjamka, and are also its benefactors, appealed to the village authorities with a request to prevent the transfer of the church to the UOC to schismatics.
The statement of the Orthodox from the EU countries was published by the Kirovograd diocese on its Facebook page.
“According to the statute of the Church, those who are not members of the parish cannot decide on the internal organization of the life of the community. This is a direct interference in church affairs, a violation of the Constitution of Ukraine and discrimination of believers,” the believers state, including both natives of the village of Adjamka, who were forced to leave their homeland due to the war, and residents of Germany and Estonia, the spiritual children of the rector of the temple, Priest Alexander Ignatiev.
Representatives of the international community request the head of the village T.A. Zaichenko and all those involved in the initiative to seize the church by schismatics should not to divide society and increase the grief of the villagers.
“Stop doing evil, there is enough of it on this earth. Leave Father Alexander and the parishioners alone, let them pray in peace in their church,” call the inhabitants of Europe, who are genuinely concerned with the fate of the Holy Intercession church.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the parishioners of the church in Adjamka, Kirovograd region, appealed to the head of the rural community with a request not to divide the village with a religious conflict.
