Military Recruitment Office detains UOC seminary student in Kyiv

On August 7, 2025, at around 20:00, officers of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC) detained Pavlo Vasilevskyi, a third-year student of the Kyiv Theological Seminary of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).

According to the UOJ, Pavlo was returning from an evening service at the Kitaiv Hermitage, where he sings in the kliros.

Before his detention, Vasilevskyi had been speaking on the phone with his fiancée, but after 20:00 he stopped responding. His phone is switched off, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the TRC had detained two priests.n the Sarny Eparchy.
