On the Feast of the Lord's Transfiguration on August 19, 2025, the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Onuphry, led the Liturgy at the Bancheny Monastery, reports a UOC correspondent.
At the service, Metropolitan Gabriel of Lovech (Bulgarian Church), the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Antoniy, Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi, Metropolitan Serhiy of Ternopil, Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn, Metropolitan Sylvester of Bilohorodka, Archbishop Siluan, Bishop Cleopa, Bishop Athanasiy, Bishop Seraphim, other hierarchs, as well as the episcopate and clergy of the Moldovan Church joined the prayer.
Thousands of people prayed at the open-air Liturgy.
His Beatitude Onuphry wished Metropolitan Longin strength in spirit and body. "May you continue to perform your archpastoral ministry diligently and zealously, like the prophet Elijah. May the Lord bless all your labors and always cover you with His almighty grace," said His Beatitude.
He awarded the metropolitan with the Primate's insignia. The hierarch of the Moldovan Church, on behalf of its Primate, awarded the Bancheny hierarch with the Order of Saint Gabriel.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a Bulgarian hierarch led the all-night vigil at the Bancheny Monastery.
