On August 21, 2025, at the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra, an exact copy of the wonderworking Sviatohirsk Icon of the Mother of God was blessed. It was written for the St. Tikhvin Church in Boyarka, Kyiv region. This was reported by the official website of the monastery.

The blessing was performed by Archimandrite Theophan (Liukshin), together with Archimandrite Lazar (Tereshchenko) and visiting priests. After the rite, Archpriests Andrey and Konstantin Dvorovye placed the copy against the original wonderworking icon.

In his address, Archimandrite Theophan noted that the blessing of the Mother of God dwelling upon the Holy Mountains will now also be present in the pious city of Boyarka, helping its residents strengthen their faith and devotion to the Mother of God:

“According to the holy fathers, the Queen of Heaven received from God the greatest gifts, as well as the authority to bestow them upon the faithful. We can receive what we ask for when praying before any icon of the Mother of God, because although there are many icons, the Theotokos is one, and Her power works everywhere in the same way. We believe that the divine gifts inherent in the wonderworking Sviatohirsk Icon will also accompany this newly written copy.”

The visit of clergy from the Kyiv Eparchy of the UOC to the Lavra was also connected with a humanitarian mission. As part of the Mission of Mercy program, the priests brought food, hygiene items, and feed for the monastery’s poultry yard. In addition, aid was delivered to the Skete of St. John of Shanghai in the village of Adamivka, the St. Sergius Monastery in Serhiivka, and to civilians in Sloviansk.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that humanitarian aid had been delivered to the Sviatohirsk Lavra from the Chernivtsi Eparchy.
