In Odesa, thousands of UOC believers commemorate Venerable Kuksha

On September 29, 2025, the commemoration day of Venerable Kuksha, the Wonderworker of Odesa, a solemn Divine Liturgy and a prayerful procession were held at the Dormition Monastery in Odesa, reports the press service of the Odessa Eparchy.

The service was led by Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail, concelebrated by Metropolitan Alexy of Balta and Ananyiv, Metropolitan Philaret of Lviv and Galicia, as well as the vicars of the Odesa Eparchy — Archbishop Diodor of Yuzhne, Archbishop Viktor of Artsyz, Bishop Serhiy of Bolhrad, Bishop Alipy of Tarutyne, and Bishop Anastasy of Ovidiopol.

The feast gathered numerous clergy and thousands of faithful who offered prayers for peace in Ukraine, the warriors, and all the people of God.

After the conclusion of the Liturgy, the archpastors, clergy, and faithful made a procession with the relics of Venerable Kuksha throughout the monastery grounds.

At the end of the festive events, a moleben (prayer service) was served before the holy relics, during which the faithful once again lifted their prayers to the venerable ascetic.

As reported by the UOJ, in the Odessa region, an OCU cleric staged a provocation at the funeral of an AFU soldier.
