Zelensky presents order to UGCC metropolitan in the USA

During his stay in the United States, Volodymyr Zelensky presented the Order of Merit, First Class, to Metropolitan Borys Hudziak of the UGCC. This was reported by the press service of UCU (Ukrainian Catholic University).
The award ceremony took place in New York at the Ukrainian Institute of America. UCU also reported that, according to Decree No. 617/2025, Zelensky awarded the Order of Merit, Third Class, to another Uniate hierarch – Volodymyr Kovbych.
“According to this decree, Metropolitans Borys and Volodymyr are recognized for their significant personal contribution to strengthening interstate cooperation, supporting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, charitable work, and the promotion of the Ukrainian state in the world,” the UCU statement said.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Zelensky had proposed a UGCC priest for the post of Minister of Education.
