On October 9, 2025, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church community in the village of Skulyn, Kovel district, celebrated its patronal feast in honor of the Holy Apostle John the Theologian. The Divine Liturgy was held in a house church, where parishioners have gathered since losing their temple, reports the Pershyi Kozatskyi Telegram channel.

The festive Liturgy was celebrated by Archpriest Fedir Shamailo, the parish rector. Despite the hardships, the room was filled with prayer, thanksgiving, and the joy of parishioners who came to honor their heavenly patron.

“You can take away a church building from people, but not their faith,” the participants of the service emphasized, expressing steadfastness and loyalty to the UOC.

The celebration concluded with a moleben and a fraternal meal. The faithful noted that, despite the loss of their temple, they remain united in prayer and continue to uphold a vibrant UOC community in Skulyn.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Minkivtsi, OCU raiders cut the locks and seized a UOC church.
