Services resumed at Mykhailivka church, with illegal seals torn down
On 22 May 2022, divine services were resumed at the Assumption Church in the village of Mykhailivka, Khmelnytskyi region, which had previously been illegally sealed off by the local authorities. A video from the church was published by human rights activist Victoria Kokhanovska on her Facebook page.
"The church from which yesterday I removed the stickers from the door of the so-called "patriots". The rule of law and the law of Ukraine!!! On behalf of myself, thanks to the law enforcement agencies that duly carried out their duties to ensure public order," wrote Kokhanovska.
In a video message, the parishioners of the church said that their rector Fr. Andriy blessed from the first day of the war to pray daily for peace and Ukrainian soldiers, whose names were submitted to the church by all residents of Mykhailivka, surrounding villages and Khmelnytskyi. There are about 500 names on the list. The faithful said that almost all of them have relatives fighting at the front.
"We, all parishioners of the temple, are grateful that we can pray in the temple again and receive the Holy Communion. We pray not only for our village but for entire Ukraine, for all the soldiers on our list. May God bless us so we can go to church and pray for everyone," said one of the parishioners.
As earlier reported, the human rights activist in Mykhailivka removed the seals from an illegally sealed UOC church.
