In Yarun, persecuted UOC community celebrates patronal feast in house church

On the day of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, priests of the Novohrad-Volynsky district of the Zhytomyr Eparchy of the UOC celebrated a conciliar liturgy in the house church in honor of the patronal feast of the Intercession community in the village of Yarun. This was reported by the eparchial press service on November 2, 2025.
A parish church was raided by OCU representatives with the active assistance of local authorities.
The festive Divine Liturgy was led by the spiritual father of the district, Archpriest Andriy Valentiuk. During the service, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine and AFU soldiers.
At the end of the service, the rector of the parish, Archpriest Serhiy Arakelov, thanked the clergy and believers for their joint prayer.
As reported by the UOJ, St. Spyridon's Church was consecrated in the Tryhirya Monastery, Zhytomyr region.
