ROCOR Bishop: Declaration of independence of the UOC was an inevitable step
Vicar of the ROCOR Diocese of Berlin and Germany, Bishop Job (Bandmann) of Stuttgart in his interview on the YouTube channel Der Bote ROKA Deutschland said that the declaration of independence of the UOC was an inevitable step.
"It was an inevitable step, given the military conflict between the two countries and the fact that the Ukrainian Church has been persecuted and discriminated against by the authorities for years. We in the Church Abroad still have full confidence in Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine and the Ukrainian episcopate," said Bishop Job.
According to him, the German Diocese has very close contacts with the UOC, there are many believers from Ukraine in its parishes, and the diocese is very actively helping refugees from Ukraine.
As reported, the German Diocese of the ROCOR stated that it remains under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church.
