Zelensky submits to the Rada a bill to ratify Istanbul Convention

On 18 June 2022, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky registered in the Verkhovna Rada draft law No. 157 "On ratifying the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence".

The relevant document was published on the Verkhovna Rada website.

Vladimir Zelensky believes that the ratification of the Istanbul Convention is a step toward protecting Ukrainians from domestic violence and gender-based violence.

As earlier reported, the AUCCRO called on the Rada not to ratify the Istanbul Convention during the war.
