On November 24, 2025, the international lawyer of the UOC, Robert Amsterdam, appeared on Piers Morgan's program ‘Ukraine Is A Corrupt MESS’ Trump Finalizes Russia Peace Deal | With Jeffrey Sachs with sharp criticism of the Ukrainian leadership and called on the West for a realistic approach to conflict resolution. The broadcast also featured former Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, American economist and former UN Secretary-General advisor Jeffrey Sachs, British politician William Browder, and American General Wesley K. Clark.

The lawyer shared his personal experience working in the country: «I represent the persecuted Church in Ukraine, where priests are beaten and churches are seized. I was attacked by the secret police in Ukraine because I've been there trying to fight for democracy and freedom of religion."

Speaking about human losses, Amsterdam emphasized: "Members of the Church I represent are on the front line and are dying." According to him, President Zelensky "is terribly damaged by corruption inquiries into him and a group arround group like Andriy Yermak."

The lawyer described the situation on the ground as "terrible": "They are kidnapping people off the streets to try to get them on the front lines. The faith in the government is broken. The police, the army, and all of the facets of Ukrainian society are now run like a typical one-party state."

"The people I speak to in Ukraine are desperate for peace and a ceasefire to be explored," stated Amsterdam.

The lawyer criticized the European position: "The Europeans are very bullish with the frozen Russian assets and young Ukrainian soldiers. But they are not bullish with their money and their youth."

Amsterdam pointed out: "Zelensky's best friend and business has now fled because of corruption charges."

Amsterdam supported Trump's peace initiatives: "I think President Trump should be praised for trying to put together a plan... We are talking about peace for one of the first time thanks to President Trump coming to office."

Recall, earlier Piers Morgan interviewed Volodymyr Zelensky. He told the British journalist that the UCCRO excluded the UOC from its members, and Tucker Carlson's words about the UOC ban are "Putin's narratives".
