On the Feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple, December 4, 2025, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Ascension Church in Demiivka, Kyiv. The Information and Education Department of the UOC reported this.
Before the service, the youngest parishioners of the church greeted His Beatitude.
Concelebrating with the Primate were Metropolitan Filaret of Lviv and Halych, Archbishop Sylvester of Bilohorodka, Archbishop Spyridon of Dobropillia, Archbishop Lavr of Irpin, Archbishop Mark of Borodianka, the clergy of the church, and visiting clergy.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, the Primate addressed the faithful with a homily in which he reminded them of the spiritual meaning of the feast.
During the service, prayers were offered for peace in the Ukrainian land; for deliverance from the enemy; that the Lord would look with mercy upon our people and preserve those who are in despair or have lost their homes; and for God’s blessing upon people of goodwill who help those in need.
At the end of the service, clergy and faithful prayed before the icon of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple.
After the dismissal, Metropolitan Onuphry congratulated the faithful on the feast and gave them his blessing.
As the UOJ reported earlier, His Beatitude previously celebrated the Liturgy at the Kyiv church of the “Quick to Hear” Icon.
