The court in Kyiv finds OCU “cleric” guilty of collaborationism
The Obolon District Court of Kyiv found Alexei Shirokov, a “cleric” of the church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Cherkasy diocese of the OCU, guilty of collaborative activities, the Sudreporter says with reference to reyestr.court.gov.ua.
“In January-April 2022, the priest posted photos and videos on the Odnoklassniki social network, justifying and recognizing the lawful armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the symbols of the communist totalitarian regime, the symbols and campaign materials of the unrecognized so-called Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, and other propaganda in support of army and authorities of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In addition, Shirokov took part in the creation of a video material to defend the armed aggression of Russia,” the verdict says.
The actions of the "cleric" were qualified under Part 1 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code (collaborationism) as a public denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and public calls to support the decisions and actions of the aggressor state.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the OCU assigned its “saboteur-abbot” to the UOC.
