On December 9, 2025, Metropolitan Theodore of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod performed a monastic tonsure at the St. John the Theologian Monastery of the UOC in the village of Siltse in Transcarpathia, reports the press service of the Mukachevo Eparchy.

The hierarch tonsured a novice of the monastery, a second-year student of the Mukachevo Theological School, into the mantle. Artemiy Serniuk received the monastic name Charlampiy, in honor of the Holy Martyr Charalampus of Magnesia.

After the tonsure, Metropolitan Theodore addressed everyone with a sermon.

The archbishop congratulated the abbot of the monastery and the rector of the Theological School, Archimandrite Luke (Tomishinets), as well as the brethren on the tonsure of their brother, and called the newly tonsured monk Charlampiy to sacrificial service to God, the Orthodox Church, and people.

As reported by the UOJ, a monastic tonsure was performed at the Kniazhychi Monastery.
