Russia calls war in Ukraine jihad and defense of Islam

Natives of Chechnya participating in the Russian invasion of Ukraine are “defending Islam,” Chairman of the Chechen Parliament Magomed Daudov said in a video posted on Ramzan Kadyrov’s Telegram channel, Kavkaz Realii reports.

Commenting on the occupation of Lisichansk, Daudov said: “We entered the city in one large group. Like brothers, like true Mujahideen, like warriors of Allah, like patriots of Russia, we met here in the center of Lisichansk... Akhmat is strength, Allahu Akbar!”

Magomed Daudov expressed his conviction that Russian soldiers from Chechnya "first of all defend Islam, they defend values, they defend the greatness of the Almighty."

He also called the war in Ukraine "jihad" and added that "until Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin stops," they "will reach Berlin."

This is another statement in a series of aggressive statements by Ramzan Kadyrov and his associates. In April, he threatened Ukraine with nuclear weapons and the intention to “seize all the cities”, in May he called on Putin to start a “second stage” of the war and seize Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kherson.

As reported by the UOJ, the Chief Mufti of the Russian Federation supported the war with Ukraine.
