On December 22, 2025, Metropolitan Theodore (Mamasuev) performed a monastic tonsure at the St. Nicholas Convent of Mukachevo in the Zakarpattia region. This was reported by the press service of the Mukachevo Eparchy.
The novices of the monastery, Khrystyna Kost and Anastasia Shimon, were tonsured into monasticism with the names Athanasia and Theophania — in honor of St. Athanasia of Aegina and Saint Blessed Queen Theophania.
The sacrament was performed by Metropolitan Theodore of Mukachevo in the presence of the sisters of the convent and the clergy. Following the tonsure, the archbishop addressed those present with words of guidance on the significance of the monastic feat and repentance.
The hierarch congratulated the abbess of the monastery, Igumenia Ilaria (Sichka), and all the sisters on the spiritual celebration. To the newly tonsured nuns, the metropolitan wished strength in fulfilling their monastic vows and God's help on the path to salvation.
As reported by the UOJ, a monastic tonsure was performed at the Kyiv Theological Schools.
