Hundreds of Odesa believers commemorate St. Kuksha of Odesa

On December 24, 2025, on the day of the commemoration of St. Kuksha of Odesa, a festive service was held at the Dormition Odesa Monastery of the UOC. This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Eparchy.

The Divine Liturgy in the cathedral Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Life-giving Spring" was led by Metropolitan Agathangel of Odesa and Izmail.

The UOC hierarch was concelebrated by Metropolitan Alexy of Balta and Ananyev, vicars of the Odesa Eparchy – Archbishop Diodor of Yuzhne, the abbot of the monastery Archbishop Viktor of Artsyz, Archbishop Serhiy of Bolgrad, Bishop Alipy of Tarutyne, Bishop Anastasy of Ovidiopol, the rector of the Odesa Theological Seminary Archpriest Dimitry, as well as numerous clergy of the eparchy and guests in holy orders.

During the liturgy, fervent prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine.

Closing the service, the clergy performed a festive prayer service before the reliquary with the relics of St. Kuksha of Odesa, to which numerous believers applied with prayer.

As reported by the UOJ, the 80th anniversary of the revival of the Theological Seminary was celebrated in Odesa.
